Frequently Asked Questions
Are there hamsters available right now?
The hamstery is run on a waitlist and as there is enough demand breedings will be scheduled. The goal is sustainable pet homes while bettering the breed as opposed to high production! If you follow on Instagram occasionally retired breeder hams will be posted as available; or if an adopter of a pup falls through they will be posted there also!
Do you ship hamsters?
Shipping of live cargo is dependant upon weather as well as international regulations. While Cloverline does ship to breeders in Canada, you will have to specifically inquire further about your own situation and be warned it is extremely costly and time consuming to have hamsters shipped. Shipping to the USA/other countries is NOT possible due to the regulations in those countries.
Can I get a specific color/sex/pattern/fur type/fur length on a specific date?
Cloverline works off of a waitlist and hamsters are matched up to humans with discretion and experience of the breeder being the main deciding factors. While you can share any preferences you have that can be taken into consideration, Cloverline does not "breed to order" as this is not a production facility. You are able to pass on a hamster or litter and wait for another more suited to your preferences of course!
Are your hamsters pedigreed?
All of the hamsters at Cloverline are pedigreed from known lineage. While it can be advantageous for a hamstery to bring in different mutations from non-pedigreed lines and do the meticulous work to test breed and create lineage and pedigrees for that line; Cloverline has not yet had a need or desire to work on that at this point in their breeding program. It is strongly recommended to not breed unpedigreed animals without a quality existing line and in-depth genetic understanding as there are many problematic pairings in hamsters that can cause genetic defects, health issues, and extremely poorly tempered hamsters to name a few issues.
